Rita Beale is co-head of the natural gas and oil practice, also focusing on electric power markets. Ms. Beale began her energy career with eight years on Wall Street as an oil and gas commodity analyst, primarily at Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs forecasting supply, demand, prices, and helping hundreds of institutional customers build derivative hedging programs. During that tenure, she also attended OPEC meetings as an industry observer. Her electric industry experience includes two posts as Vice President of supply and portfolio management for deregulated electric companies in ERCOT and WECC. Ms. Beale’s diverse experiences are rounded out by five years of energy risk management consulting at Arthur Andersen in enterprise risk management, strategic planning, energy contract valuation, Sarbanes Oxley implementation and compliance, and internal audit. Since joining EVA in 2007, Ms. Beale assignments have included fundamental analysis of the natural gas and oil markets, providing expert witness testimony, publishing technical research for EPRI, assisting NERC in its electric reliability assessments, and helping companies invest in energy assets.Selected Publications
