Dr. Barbaro provides various consulting services to coal companies, electric utilities, regulatory agencies, railroads, and other firms in the energy industry. His focus at Energy Ventures Analysis, Inc. includes coal and electricity demand and price forecast studies; coal mine production, productivity and cost analyses; mine management audits; acquisition analysis; transportation costs studies; strategic planning; power plant financial analysis and emission studies; utility deregulation; modeling of the electric power plants and industries; coal procurement and contracting support to electric utilities; and coal contract litigation support.
From 1981 to 1986, he was an Instructor at The Pennsylvania State University in the Mining Engineering Department where he taught undergraduate courses, and performed research in the coal industry. Mr. Barbaro also has experience with the North American Coal Company at the Helen mine in Homer City, Pennsylvania from 1976 through 1979. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and is a member of the Society of Mining Engineers.
